Ursa’s Story

“When I first met Ursa, it wasn’t love at first sight…

The first reaction upon seeing this emaciated dog suffering from mistreatment was shock and horror. As an animal lover, I knew I had to save her!

Among other problems Ursa suffered severe hair loss due to a food allergy that had been unaddressed for years.

At my veterinarian's recommedation, I began making all of her food myself at home to isolate the allergen. After determining the underlying allergy involved wheat and corn, I did my research only to discover these two ingredients are common fillers in most commercial dog foods.

I made Ursa's food myself for the rest of her life. She was a much loved part of my family and still dearly missed. Ursa lived to the great age of 17 years (nearly twice the breed average); to this day my veterinarian has never seen another Rottweiler live that long!”
